Privacy Policy for Boom Cannon: Online Battles
This Privacy Policy explains how Bit Techs ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use Boom Cannon: Online Battles ("Boom Cannon" or the "App").
Boom Cannon does not require your real name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, photos, camera, or microphone.
1. Information processed by Boom Cannon
Account and public profile information
If you create an optional online account, we process your chosen username, password, account identifier, account creation time, acceptance of the terms, rating, tier, match count, account status, and whether a public username has been hidden following moderation. Passwords are transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored only as cryptographic hashes.
Your username, rating, tier, and challenge results may be displayed publicly in the App. Do not use your real name or other identifying information as your username.
Device, gameplay, and service information
The App processes a stable app-scoped installation identifier for authentication, abuse prevention, sessions, and account security. Server-side account device bindings are hashed. Online features process matchmaking mode, room participation, game inputs, outcomes, rankings, progression, daily-challenge results, block relationships, and related service events.
Our servers may also process standard technical information such as IP address, connection time, app version and build, request status, security events, and diagnostic logs to operate and secure the service.
Username reports, blocking, and moderation
A safety report may contain the reported username and account identifier, the reporter's account identifier when signed in, the selected reason, timestamps, moderation status, and a limited internal moderation note. Player block relationships may be stored to enforce safety choices. Moderators may hide or replace a violating public username.
Age eligibility
Boom Cannon asks for a birth year to determine whether the user is under 13, a teen, or an adult. The entered birth year is processed on the device and is not stored by our server. Only the derived audience group is stored locally. For eligible users, the App may send age-treatment signals, but not the entered year, to advertising consent and advertising services.
Diagnostics and local settings
After confirming that a user is at least 13, production builds may send crash and error diagnostics to our configured Sentry-compatible service. This may include app version, operating system, device characteristics, technical network context, errors, and stack traces. Game preferences, local progress, the derived audience group, blocked usernames, and session information may be stored on the device.
2. Advertising and Google AdMob
Boom Cannon uses Google AdMob only after confirming that a user is at least 13. The App requests non-personalized banner, interstitial, and user-selected rewarded ads and does not intentionally enable cross-app personalized-ad tracking.
Non-personalized advertising may still process IP-derived approximate location, app or device identifiers, device information, ad interactions, consent choices, and diagnostics for contextual advertising, frequency capping, reporting, measurement, fraud prevention, and security. Teen requests receive under-age-of-consent treatment and a maximum Parental Guidance ad-content rating. Eligible adults may receive regional privacy choices.
3. How we use information
- Provide accounts, server-hosted gameplay, matchmaking, rooms, rankings, and challenges.
- Maintain progress and match results.
- Provide non-personalized advertising and regional privacy choices.
- Validate usernames and operate reporting, blocking, and moderation.
- Detect cheating, fraud, abuse, and service attacks.
- Diagnose errors, improve reliability, comply with law, and enforce our terms.
4. Legal bases and sharing
Where applicable, we process information to perform our agreement with you, based on consent, to comply with legal obligations, and for legitimate interests in operating, securing, moderating, and improving Boom Cannon.
Information may be made available to Google AdMob and its providers; infrastructure, hosting, database, and diagnostics providers; other players where a public username or ranking is shown; and authorities where required by law or necessary to protect users or the service. We do not sell account credentials or public profile information for money. Some laws may classify advertising-related disclosures as a sale or sharing; where applicable, the App provides relevant choices.
5. Data retention
Account information and associated game records are generally retained while the account remains active. Operational and diagnostic information is retained only as reasonably needed for the purposes described here.
Account deletion removes the account relationship from safety reports. A limited, de-identified moderation record may be retained where reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, prevent repeated violations, comply with law, or resolve disputes. Limited security logs and backups may remain temporarily until overwritten under operational retention cycles and are not used to recreate a deleted account.
6. Account and data deletion
Delete inside the App
- Open Boom Cannon.
- Open the Account screen.
- Select Delete Account.
- Complete the confirmation.
In-app deletion removes the account and associated server-stored authentication, device binding, progression, ranking, settlement, challenge, and player-block data. The account relationship is removed from retained safety reports. This action is irreversible.
Request deletion without the App
Email bittechs.dev@gmail.com with the subject Boom Cannon Account Deletion Request. Include your public username, but never your password. We may request reasonable non-secret information to verify account ownership.
Account deletion does not automatically remove device-only settings. Clear the App's storage or uninstall it to remove local data, subject to operating-system behavior.
7. Users under 13
Boom Cannon is a 13+ service. If the entered birth year indicates that the user is under 13, the App does not start accounts, device authentication, diagnostics, advertising, online play, or other online features. If you believe a person under 13 provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
8. Security and international processing
We use reasonable safeguards including HTTPS/WSS encryption, hashed passwords, hashed account-device bindings, access controls, authenticated requests, and moderation procedures. No electronic system is completely secure. Information may be processed in countries other than your country by us or our service providers, with appropriate safeguards where required.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, or withdraw consent. Contact us to exercise an applicable right. Advertising privacy choices are available in the App when required.
10. Open-source font notice
Boom Cannon includes the VT323 font, Copyright 2011 The VT323 Project Authors, under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. The complete license is included in the App's legal notices.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the App, applicable law, or our providers change. The updated date will be shown above. For support, privacy requests, safety reports, and appeals, email bittechs.dev@gmail.com.
